Be a cactus in a world of delicate flowers.

Cacti are some of my most favourite plants. One of the reasons that I love them is because they're pretty tough and you don't have to water them very often and so they're pretty easy to take care of. But if you're really lucky and you get to see a cactus in bloom, they have the most beautiful flowers that are so so very delicate (I took that photo of a cactus in the desert in California many years ago). I think human beings are a lot like cacti....they're pretty strong and can survive some pretty tough stuff, but they are also fragile at times and still need love and care. I think this is why I like cacti the most.
